  • Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum
    Location:  9201 Balloon Museum Dr. NE in Albuquerque.

    Directions to Museum:  From I-25 take the Alameda Blvd. Exit, drive about 1 mile west on Alameda, Balloon Museum Drive is on the North side of Alameda. That will take you directly to the parking lot.
     
    Admission is FREE to the Balloon Museum each Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  A bargain you simply can't pass up.
    Southwest Soaring Museum
    Glider history comes alive at the Soaring Museum located at the Moriarty Municipal Airport, about 30 miles east of Albuquerque on I-40.

    Directions From Albuquerque to Moriarty Municipal Airport:
    East on I-40, Right at exit 196 (Highway 41)
    Go one-half mile South (to the second light)
    Left on Martinez Road, Go two miles east
    Right on George Applebay Way (A big sign says Moriarty Municipal Airport)
    Sundance Aviation houses the museum in the southeasterly most hangar 505-832-2222

    Moriarty boasts some of the finest year round soaring conditions in the United States, including 15 knot thermals to 22,000 ft, mountain wave to 34,000 ft, and orographic lift off the Manzano, Sandia, Ortiz, and Sangre de Cristo mountain ranges. Many flights in excess of 250 miles are recorded each year.
    National Atomic Museum
    The National Atomic Museum is the nation's only Congressionally chartered museum of nuclear science and history. The museum was established in 1969 as an intriguing place to learn the story of the Atomic Age, from early research of nuclear development through today's peaceful uses of nuclear technology.
     
    The National Atomic Museum is located in the heart of Old Town Albuquerque, along Museum Corridor. Within walking distance are three additional museums, including Albuquerque Museum, New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science and Explora Children's Museum.
     
    The National Atomic Museum is located at 1905 Mountain Road NW, Albuquerque New Mexico 87104. We are 2 blocks east of Rio Grande Boulevard and just north of Old Town, Albuquerque. The phone number is (505) 245-2137. The phone number for the museum gift shop is (505) 242-6083.
    New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science The Museum has eight permanent exhibit halls that take visitors on a journey through time we refer to as "Timetracks" providing snapshots of New Mexico from the formation of the universe to the present day. These permanent exhibits take you on your Journey Through Time. There are also a number of special exhibits that change regularly.

    Also featured at the museum is the Lockheed Martin DynaTheater and state of the art Planetarium.

    The Museum is located at 1801 Mountain Road NW in Albuquerque, New Mexico. From Interstate 40, take Rio Grande Boulevard south about half a mile to Mountain Road, then east on Mountain Road less than a half a mile to the Museum, turning north on 18th street to the parking lot. The Museum entrance is on 18th Street.
     

    Shopping Old Town. Shopping in Old Town is a truly delightful experience. Distinctly Southwestern items can be found in over 150 shops, galleries, boutiques and studios. Eat like a New Mexican in the wonderful restaurants. Location: East of Rio Grande Blvd. between Mountain Rd. and Central Avenue.

    ABQ Uptown is the ultimate destination in New Mexico for upscale fashion, home furnishings, entertainment and dining and the perfect place to shop, walk, and eat in a just-right, outdoor environment.  Location: at the intersection of Uptown Boulevard and Q Street near I-40 and Louisiana.

    Winrock Mall and Coronado Mall are also in this area, located within blocks of ABQ Uptown on Louisiana.

    Cottonwood Mall has an especially interesting theme in its design. It appears you are walking on the sky, and above you are the sites and scenes of the Albuquerque area. Filled with shops, restaurants and attractions, this is an important stop for shopping in the west side. The mall is located at Coors Blvd and 7 bar loop on the northwest side of Albuquerque.
